Getting Started 👋

Welcome to Aurora — Kenya's beauty services app. You can book hair, nails, makeup, and more from verified local providers. Here's how to get going.

Download the app

Search for Aurora Beauty Kenya on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install it. It's free.

Create your account

Open the app and tap Get Started. Fill in your name, email, and password, then choose whether you're a Client (booking services) or a Beauty Provider (offering services).

For your phone number make sure you use the +254 format — for example +254 712 345 678. Don't write it starting with a zero (0712... will be rejected).

💡 Tip: Your phone number is used for booking SMS alerts and M-Pesa payments, so it must be your active Safaricom or Airtel line.

Verify your phone number

After you register, Aurora sends a 6-digit code via SMS to your +254 number. Enter it in the app to activate your account. The code expires after 10 minutes.

Didn't get the SMS? Wait 60 seconds then tap Resend Code. If your phone has two SIMs, make sure you're checking messages on the correct one.

Complete your profile

Add a profile photo and your county — this helps Aurora show you providers near you. If you want mobile services (provider comes to you), also save your home address under Settings → My Addresses.

You can do this now or skip it and come back later. Your profile is always editable from the Profile tab.

Find and book a service

Tap Explore and browse by category (Hair, Nails, Makeup, Skin Care…) or search for something specific. You can filter by your county and by whether the provider works from a salon or comes to you.

When you find a provider you like, tap their card to see their portfolio, pricing, and availability. Pick a date and time, then proceed to checkout.

💡 Tip: First-time tip — look for providers with a Verified badge and read a few reviews before booking.

What happens after you book?

Once you pay, your booking becomes Pending — the provider sees your request and has a window to confirm. You'll get a push notification and SMS the moment they do.

If the provider doesn't confirm in time, Aurora automatically cancels and you get a full refund.

After the appointment, you can rate the provider. Your reviews help the whole Aurora community.
